Recommended Method

The facilitator gives young people an information about the steps of the overall project as “focus group meetings”, “the quantitative survey study (that they have structured)” and the training activities within the project. During this phase, the participants asked whether they can contribute or not and where they would like to involve to increase their involvement as the agencies of change.

During this phase, the participants are asked to choose the section within the project and the implementation phase and develop a follow-up strategy of this training that they have involved by using the 5W1H model by planning the follow-up activities focused on the segments of the project.

The facilitator introduces the 5W1H Model by explaining :

  • What: Clearly describe the situation, problem, or purpose of the method usage, along with the overall goal.
    • Who: Identify the relevant people or group involved, including those who discovered the problem and who will implement the solution.
    • Where: Specify the location or position of the recognized issue, whether it’s a place, facility, or process.
    • When: Include all date-related components such as timeline, deadline, or duration relevant to the situation.
    • Why: Highlight the reason and objectives behind the need for action, emphasizing its importance in the 5W1H method.
    • How: Detail the steps and resources required for implementing the identified plan effectively.

Afterwards, the participants will develop their follow-up strategies to engage in the parts of the project as young people and they will present it afterwards. The facilitator should keep on eye on the development process as it is crucial for the involvement of the young people during the strategy development.  After the presentations, the facilitator implements the debriefing section by using the following questions :

  • How hard was planning the strategy to involve in the project after this training?
  • Do you see yourself to implement actions beneficial to the implementation of the project?
  • Do you see any obstacles for you to implement the follow-up actions within the project?
  • Do you believe that the project will create an impact on the life of young people with your actions as young people?
