Summary of the Project
The Digitize Enterprise Project has successfully addressed the urgent need to digitalize youth work by focusing on delivering digital youth work and enhancing the digital competencies of youth workers. Recognizing that young people in Europe increasingly engage with digital media and technology, the project capitalized on these platforms to provide learning, social interaction, and opportunities for active societal participation. Despite the recognized potential of these technologies for youth empowerment, there had been a significant gap in digital youth work delivery. The project responded to this challenge by implementing strategic financial investments in youth worker training, innovative digital methodologies, and necessary infrastructure, as recommended by the European Commission’s 2018 report on “Developing Digital Youth Work.”

In parallel, the project tackled the significant issues of youth unemployment and the high number of young people categorized as NEET (Not in Employment, Education, or Training). Given the importance of youth entrepreneurship as a strategy to combat these issues, the project focused on promoting entrepreneurial skills as a pathway out of unemployment and social exclusion. Despite previous low self-employment rates among young people, Digitize Enterprise targeted this area by integrating digital youth work with initiatives to foster youth entrepreneurship, thereby enhancing employability and social inclusion.

The project was structured around three main components, all of which have been successfully implemented. First, the Digitize Enterprise Youth-Work Toolkit was developed, providing a collection of digital resources—including interactive games, infographics, podcasts, and eLearning videos—designed to enrich non-formal youth enterprise education. Second, the Digitize Enterprise Virtual Learning Lab was introduced as an interactive, game-based tool that empowers young people to take control of their digital learning and build their entrepreneurial competencies. This platform, featuring gamification elements like points, badges, and e-portfolios, encouraged continuous learning and skill recognition. Finally, the project included a professional development program for youth leaders, which effectively equipped them with the skills necessary to deliver digital youth work.

Through the successful implementation of these initiatives, the Digitize Enterprise Project has created, tested, and rolled out innovative digital tools and resources that foster youth enterprise skills while enhancing the digital competencies of youth workers. The project has bridged the gap in digital youth work delivery and addressed the broader issue of youth unemployment in Europe. By providing these targeted digital solutions and training programs, the project has empowered young people and youth workers alike, contributing to a more inclusive and economically resilient society.
Results of the Project
As a result of the project,  The toolkit was developed for youth practitioners, to simultaneously support digital youth work approaches and deliver non-formal enterprise and employability learning opportunities, by providing them with a package of 30 bespoke digital resources, designed around the concept of ‘Micro-learning’, short and concise learning nuggets, delivered in multi-media formats to promote blended learning approaches.

Significance of the Project
The Digitize Enterprise Project exemplifies good practice in promoting social rights, employability, and inclusion by equipping young people with essential entrepreneurial skills through a comprehensive, accessible digital toolkit. By addressing gaps in digital youth work and fostering entrepreneurship, the project empowers young people to actively participate in society, enhances their employability, and provides pathways out of unemployment and social exclusion. Its focus on upskilling youth workers and integrating innovative digital resources ensures that all young people, including those from marginalized backgrounds, have equal opportunities to develop the competencies needed for success in the modern economy.
